Hi, girls. As you know I have a special category called “Fashion brands” on our blog. In this category I recite about prominent contemporary, emerging designers and titans of the 20th century. But this time I’m going to make some quintessence and tell you about top fashion designers.

Many people asked Dolce and Gabbana, Miuccia Prada, Hubert de Givenchy and Coco Chanel how did they decide to become a fashion designer. Really it is very hard to answer. It’s just the same as why did you decide to breath. Hard to answer, isn’t it?

Making a small analysis I can say that in the majority of cases the atmosphere in the native house and the childhood itself made the choice for the top fashion designers early in their life. For example, Italian designer Valentino was brought up in the house full of artistic and creative mood. Hubert de Givenchy’s grandfather, who replaced his father, was an artist and expert tapestry maker. Coco Chanel was fond of hats designing.

Of course there are some exemptions. For example, Giorgio Armani firstly studied medicine; Christian Dior’s family hoped he would become a diplomat. But despite of those obstacles, top fashion designers found ways to go and to make their dreams come true. Even if it was necessary to leave the school at 16, as Alexander McQueen did.

Another step in world major fashion designers’ career was sketching for some already famous fashion house. Among the designers, who has such an experience I can name Valentino and Christian Dior. Some designers started as widows dressers for known boutiques, as Giorgio Armani did.

Of course there were lucky people, who had been already born in the designer’s family: Prada and Gucci for example.

Beneath I’ve prepared a list of the top fashion designers. If you are interested in details of their career then follow the link.
