Latest winter dress fashions in the UK

The bleak winter weather in the UK can do nothing to dampen the spirits of a true fashionista. Dresses are as essential this winter as they were during the summer. Accessories may be a little more wintry, such as thick patterned tights, leggings, coats, hats and scarves and the dresses themselves maybe made from thicker, more hardwearing material, but the same fundamentals are the same: dresses are sexy, sassy, stylish and most importantly, wearable.

Here are four of the most covetable styles of the season. All of these dresses are available from Warehouse just search for ‘dresses UK’.

Daytime

The Snaffle Belted Dress is perfect for daytime. Its chic and simple styling with rounded neckline, three-quarter length sleeves and peephole cut-out fastening at the back mean it is flattering but cool. The skinny belt and loose skirt create a feminine silhouette, and this mid-thigh dress is suitable for any occasion. It comes in black and a pinky-red, but our favourite is navy blue. It pays dues to the 1970s and will look great with tights and either brogues or low-heeled slouchy boots. Add a duffle or pea coat and a floppy dome hat and you can brave the cold in style.

Day-to-night

The Colour Block T-Shirt Dress is one of those dresses you can dress up or down with ease. This slinky, yet relaxed dress has a nipped-in waist to give shape and definition, whilst the loose fabric gives it a laid-back look. The mustard yellow colour blocking is very on trend and teamed with black means it works for both day and night. Add a pair of coloured tights and loafers during the day, but spruce it up with black tights and suede shoeboots at night.

Party time

Seeing as you are going to need more than one show-stopping dress this festive season if you really want to cause a stir, we have picked two of our favourite dresses from Warehouse. It has a separate look-book full of delectable festive outfits. Here are our two top picks.

This Chevron Sequin Dress just has ‘for special occasions’ written all over it. This shapely, figure-forming dress is simply divine. Firstly, it’s right on trend with the metallic detailing and slight 1920s feel but the detailing takes it up a notch. The low v-neckline on both front and back, along with the asymmetric pattern in black and gold and bow-belted waist create a slim-line hourglass shape. It’s fitted without being too snug and the tulip shaped skirt helps to make the most of your figure. Add some killer heels and this look is primed and ready to rock and roll.

The Studded Bodycon Dress gives a whole new meaning to the LBD. This dress oozes sex appeal. It has a shift shape, with sexy cut-away panel on the back. The hemline is short and the dress itself is figure hugging. The dark silver studs give a rock star feel without being over powering. This dress speaks for itself; keep accessories to a minimum and pair it with some strappy sandals or platform peep-toe courts.
