In late November 2009 at Joseph Orlando men’s store Downtown, model Miyoshi Anderson announced that the first Pittsburgh Fashion Week would take place on Sept 27th 2010 and last 7 days up to 3rd Oct 2010.

Area fashion designers and retailers, industry insiders, internationally known fashion designers, lovers of style and other fashionistas will come together to debut during Pittsburgh Fashion Week on the Sen. John Heinz History Center, the Omni William Penn Hotel, and other venues in the Golden Triangle. Moreover, Pittsburgh Fashion Hall of Fame was newly created for Pittsburgh-rooted style icons induction.

Showcase presentations will feature New York-style runway shows with VIP seating a kick-off extravaganza and related parties, plus and petite sizes, children’s fashions, the work of student and emerging designers. An indoor fashion fair will focus on local designers and fashion artisans, retailers, clothes from consignment and thrift stores.

The “pink” items Pittsburgh Fashion Week fashion show promoting breast cancer awareness will commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Other events will include an indoor fashion festival.

Among Pittsburgh Fashion Week sponsor opportunities are:

Marquee Sponsor $25,000 (1 sponsorship available)

Haute Couture (Diamond) $10,000

Luxury (Platinum) $5,000

Bridge (Gold) $2,000

Pret-a-Porter (Silver) $1000

Savvy (Bronze) $500

In conclusion we can say that Pittsburgh Fashion Week is a cultural and social event that will grow each year, showing Pittsburgh not only as “sports and steel town” but also a style one.
