Oscar de la Renta Ready-To-Wear Spring/Summer 2012 - New York Fashion WeekOscar de la Renta Spring/Summer 2012 Collection at New York Fashion Week was presented in one of the nearest to Times Square buildings at Manhattan. It was opened with striking and powerful images. In accordance with the audience which was filled with such people as twin Olsens, Valentino, Rachel Zoe, Barbara Walters and several others.

First three of his creations were obvious messages. They were ideally fitting bodices, two of which lace-covered with taffeta skirts, which were expansively boasting red, daffodil and emerald, shaped like vast parachutes. Next on the catwalk were the virtuously white dresses tailored from slightly transparent laces. The one which stood out was the three-quarter sleeved coat dress with blossoming appliqués. A number of outfits were made from crochet, chiffons and tweeds. They were bright day dresses in acid green and canary yellow. Other eye-catching pieces were sailor pants with high waists and sleeveless sheaths.

In other words, the designer was utterly carried away with some kind of decadent shows including varieties of styles from different eras and following no clear aims or themes, though all of it was made with an experienced eye and generously decorated in posh details.

Work and play, day and night, they were all recklessly covered by Oscar de la Renta fashion house. One noticeable drawback was lack of focus on any particular line, but the advantages were the more contemporary outfits where Oscar de la Renta could really shine, proving that he was not only a designer with red carpet appeal.
